Starlight Ministries, Inc. is a harbor in the storm of grief; a place to be with other individuals who are experiencing the same type of feelings.
Peer-to-Peer Support Groups
Starlight provides grief support groups, peer-to-peer, specifically designed for participants to process feelings, grow in faith and learn ways to cope with loss. Groups are facilitated in Hudsonville and virtually by trained volunteers.
Camp Anew
Camp Anew is a summer program that ministers specifically to children & teens ages 7-17; it is a place where campers can experience the value of gathering with other children who are grieving, learn biblically based coping skills and are offered HOPE to lead a meaningful life going forward.
Bereaved Parent Events
These annual events for parents who have experienced the death of a child are a safe place to learn, share, and discuss their grief with those who truly understand. Bereaved Parent Dinner is held in the spring and Bereaved Mom’s Night Out is held each summer.
Starlight offers educational services to the community and organizations like churches, schools, and businesses. Our vision is to create a community equipped to share the Hope of Christ through the grief process. We strive to be the principal resource in bereavement services to West Michigan and beyond.
Grief Education Series
Learn what to expect with grief, add some tools to your ‘Grief and Mourning Toolbox’ and learn how to manage grief both now and in the years ahead. This series is open to any adults who are grieving a death loss or persons wanting to support someone who is grieving.
Suicide Prevention Training
QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) Gatekeeper Training for Suicide Prevention is an educational program designed to teach the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond.
Starlight Open Houses and Tours
Community members, church staff members, and business owners are invited to tour the Starlight facilities and learn how grief impacts families, friends, employees, congregation members, and discover how to be a source of comfort and Hope.
Starlight relies on the support of community members, churches, and businesses to provide grief support groups at no cost to participants. These annual events invite community members to engage in the ministry in fun and meaningful ways.
Embrace the Hope Gala
This annual evening gala is a celebration of Hope. Members of the Starlight community gather for an elegant meal, meaningful presentation, valuable raffle prizes, and impactful support for sharing Hope with grieving individuals and families.
Starlight Trivia Night
This fun gathering offers friendly competition, brain-busting trivia, a wine pull, and other fun ways to support the ministry. Gather some friends and plan to join us for this fun evening held in March.
BIG HOPE mini golf
We held our first annual mini golf event this summer! Families gathered for mini golf, carnival games, concessions, a raffle drawing, and more. Another fun event that helps us share Hope!

Peer Group Facilitators
Volunteer facilitators at Starlight Ministries are the Hands and Feet of Jesus walking with participants on their grief journey. Starlight Ministries provides training to facilitators, so they are equipped with skills to support children, teen and adult groups.
Monthly Supporters
Starlight Gift of Light supporters provide financial stability that allows for the ministry to plan and grow to meet the needs of our community.
